Special statement by Labour Minister Chief Moses Yarkpazuo Kollie, Chairman of the National Anti-Human Trafficking Taskforce of Liberia, regarding the released of the 2020 TIP Report by United States Government.
I am excited to announce that Liberia has graduated from “Tier-2” watch list of US Government’s montoring system on Trafficking In Persons (TIP)
As chairman of the National Anti Human Trafficking Taskforce,I am excited about the efforts of H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah, President of Liberia,for his continued supports in combating all forms of human trafficking in Liberia.
Through this medium also,I appreciate the collective engagements of every member of the taskforce including,the Ministry of Labour (Chair), Ministry of Justice(Co. Chair) as well as, other Statutory members comprising of the, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Gender, Social and Children Protection,Ministry of Internal Affairs, Liberia National Police and the Liberia Immigration Service.
We want to also say,thanks to our strong partner,the United States Embassy accredited near Monrovia and also,other National and International partners including, the IDLO for their endless supports in helping us combat trafficking in persons.
We will continue the engaments until, Trafficking in Liberia is substantially minimized,if not abolished.
